Our Approach
The Fundamentals That Guide Everything We Do
Arts-integrated. Nature-focused. Community-driven. Whole child-centered.
Our proposed school will offer a unique program built around four key fundamentals that make learning deeper, richer, and more lasting, including elements that are too often underfunded, or left out of standard public education. These fundamentals support deep engagement, knowledge retention, student growth, academic achievement, and well-being. They are central to the education we believe children deserve.
Community as Classroom
We are designing an expeditionary learning-based academic program where students can safely learn with and from the people, places, history, ecology, and creative life of our region.

Arts Woven Into Everything
We believe the arts are essential ways children build understanding, express ideas, develop confidence, and connect with one another.

Arts Woven Into Everything
Nature as Teacher
Our stunning Catskills landscape is an invaluable educational tool: a way to enrich everyday learning and spark student creativity, big-picture thinking, curiosity, and a lasting sense of stewardship.

Focus On All Aspects of Growth
We are designing a school that supports children in every aspect of their growth: academic, social, emotional, physical, and creative, nurturing each student as a whole person: a learner, thinker, artist, friend, problem-solver, and community member.
