Community Survey
As you may have heard, Woodstock Elementary School — the easternmost elementary school in the Onteora Central School District — is currently slated to close at the end of the 2027–2028 school year.
For many families, this is part of a larger regional pattern: across Onteora, Kingston, and Saugerties, neighborhood elementary options have become fewer, farther apart, or harder to access.
We are a group of local parents exploring the possibility of creating a tuition-free public charter elementary school in Woodstock that integrates strong academics, the arts, nature-based learning, and community partnerships. If approved, the school would be open to students from Onteora Central School District as well as neighboring districts, including Kingston and Saugerties. Our goal is to better understand what families across this affected region value and need in a public elementary school option.
This survey is informational only and does not commit families to enrollment. Your feedback will help us understand community needs and guide our next steps.
One response per household, please. Residents of any school district — Onteora Central School District or any neighboring district — are welcome to respond.
